Allowing a computer to roam

Allowing a computer to roam is important for computers, especially laptops, that are regularly used in more than one location. When a user logs onto a computer that is allowed to roam, they are asked to choose their current location. This allows them to print to printers that are local to their location as well as to any printers that have been assigned to the computer.

To allow a computer to roam

  1. From the left-hand pane, expand Picture of the Computers icon Computers and choose All Computers.

  2. From the right-hand pane, right-click the computer and from the menu, choose Properties.

  3. Choose the General tab.

  4. Tick the 'Allow computer to roam to other locations' box.

  5. Click OK.
